Student Pickup & Dropoff for Parents
Parking at Greenville has always been a problem that complicates our student drop off/pick up. This problem has grown as our student population has increased; more students walking, riding bikes, being dropped off and picked up.
Greenville Elementary is implementing a new school drop-off/pick-up procedure. This new procedure will go into effect on January 1, 2019.
This policy change is in response to the requests of concerned parents and the PTA members. After many hours of studying, planning, and meeting… Greenville administration, the school district, and community council have approved a new procedure that will keep our kids safe during the drop-off/pick-up times. Please review the new policy, designated zones, and appropriate usage for each.
School staff has been tasked with enforcing these changes as part of their bus duty. Additionally, parent volunteers will be on-site for the first two weeks during the pick-up/drop-off windows to assist with traffic movement, directing cars to the correct lanes, and helping explain the new policy. North Park P.D. will also be enforcing the new right-turn-only exit on 2500 North. Remember you are not the exception.
NOTE: If you choose to park on the opposite side of the road from Greenville, please ask your child to cross at the corner crosswalk and then walk to your car. Encouraging kids to run across 400 East or 2500 North gives an extremely poor message and put kids in danger. Please help us keep your children safe by following this plan.
Please be respectful if you are directed to comply with procedures. We will all need to adjust to a new way of doing things. We hope that this new policy change will provide a safer environment for all of our Greenville students as they arrive at and leave the school grounds.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation. We are already looking forward to the safe start to 2019.
