Cache County School District high school athletes claim titles in Fall sports

Cache County School District is proud to be home to some of the region’s finest athletes. During the 2024 Fall season, our students accomplished great success in their respective activities. Students competed in UHSAA-sanctioned cross country, girls' volleyball, football, girls' soccer, boys' golf, and girls' tennis during the fall. Congratulations to the following athletes and teams on their region and/or state wins!

The Mountain Crest High School Girls' Soccer team claimed the state and region championships! This is the team’s third state title since 2021. “Honestly, it’s super special,” Senior and starting defender Bentli Barrera told Herald Journal reporters. “It’s like a once-in-a-lifetime chance. Not everybody gets to even play in a state championship (game), so it’s awesome. I’m very grateful for it.”

Girls' Volleyball:

The Green Canyon Girls Volleyball team are the region's champions. They finished the season with a perfect sweep in their regular season matches. It’s an unusual year for the Wolves because none of the players were seniors; all will have the opportunity to play again next year. “We have a unique opportunity,” head coach Maddie Larsen told Herald Journal reporter Shawn Harrison. “The girls all played well, and we’ll keep prepping for next year in the off-season!”
