River Heights Elementary is a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School
On Monday, September 23rd, the U.S. Department of Education recognized River Heights Elementary as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School. River Heights is one of 356 schools in the nation chosen for excelling in academic performance or closing gaps in achievement amongst student groups.
“The National Blue Ribbon Schools Award is a testament to the exceptional achievements of students and educators at each of these schools,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona. “The 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools are raising the bar for our nation’s students, serving as models for effective teaching and intentional collaboration in their schools and communities. As we celebrate their achievements, let us look to these schools for inspiration as we champion education as the foundation of a brighter future for every child.”
Principal Stacie Williamson attributes the success of River Heights Elementary to its welcoming culture, the exceptional teamwork of its staff, its connection to the Cache County School District, and the willingness of students, staff, and parents to try new things. She acknowledges the efforts and foundation laid by previous principals and teachers at River Heights. “The changes, progress, teamwork, trust, culture, and success that you build year after year is what leads to an awesome award like this,” she said. “It takes a village, and it also takes time and dedication. Fortunately, we have both and more at River Heights Elementary.”
