Ridgeline High School’s Richard Gittins has been selected as the recipient for the 2020 Zero Fatalities Award for Outstanding Driver Education Teacher. Gittins has been working for Cache County School District for the past 24 years as a teacher and coach at Mountain Crest and Ridgeline High Schools.
Gittins enjoys getting to teach driver education courses because he believes it is one of the most important classes the students will ever have. “I have a lot of passion for Driver Education and feel a lot of responsibility to do my very best to teach my students, due to the responsibilities and safety involved with driving a car,” he said.
Gittins also explained what an honor it is to be chosen for this prestigious award because of all of the outstanding Driver Education teachers throughout the state. Gittins will be recognized at an upcoming school board meeting. Congratulations to Mr. Gittins!
