ACT Test Day for Juniors on March 3rd
Juniors across Cache Valley will be participating in Utah's annual ACT Test Day on Tuesday, March 3rd. The test will be administered in CCSD high schools.
ACT coordinator for Green Canyon High School, Max Jones, said that there are many ways to prepare for the test, some better than others. "The very best way to prepare for the ACT is taking rigorous classes,” he said. “In all the ACT conferences I have been to or viewed on a webinar, that is what they tell you. Nothing beats taking rigorous classes."
Students can also prepare by using the Shmoop Premium Online course provided by the State of Utah. You can visit www.schools.shmoop.com to see the course. Each high school has a unique "magic word" so students can create an account.
Parents can help their students prepare for this critical college entrance exam by:
- Making sure students have all of their supplies (pencils, an approved calculator, photo ID, etc.) gathered a day or two in advance of the test.
- Help your student plan for extra travel time in case of inclement weather.
- Make sure your student gets plenty of sleep and a good breakfast before the test.
Students and parents can find more testing tips on the ACT website. For more information about the ACT Test Day in CCSD high schools, please contact your student's guidance counselor.
Good luck to all of our CCSD Juniors who are taking the ACT next month!
