Green Canyon's Shane Jones named the 2019 Assistant Principal of the Year by the Utah Association of Secondary School Principals
The Utah Association of Secondary School Principals has named Green Canyon High School assistant principal Shane Jones the 2019 Assistant Principal of the Year. Jones is known for being a cheerful and inclusive educator who focuses all he does on helping students to succeed.
Jones began his education career as a school counselor in Idaho. Since then, he has worked as a teacher, coach, athletic director, and assistant principal at Sky View before becoming Green Canyon’s first assistant principal when it opened in 2016. In total, Jones has worked as an educator for 30 years.
“He is the complete package,” Dave Swenson, Green Canyon Principal says of Jones. “Not only is he bright, but he connects very well with people. As a principal, I couldn’t ask for a more dedicated, supportive, loyal individual to work with. He is a valuable asset to our school.”
Jones considers the best part of his job to be the relationships he has built with students and faculty members. “You can’t underestimate the power of relationships,” he remarked.
Thank you, Mr. Jones, for being the outstanding and loving administrator that you are. Cache County School District is lucky to have you among our amazing faculty.
