North Park Elementary teacher Karen Merritt Named Outstanding Sixth-Grade Science Educator of the Year
The Utah Science Teachers Association named North Park Elementary’s teacher Karen Merritt as the Outstanding Sixth-Grade Science Educator of the Year during its annual conference on Friday, February 8th.
“I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this recognition than Karen Merritt,” North Park principal Alden Jack said. “She has spent so much time and effort continually refining her ability to clarify the science standards down to meaningful sections of content. With great skill, Merritt is able to engage her students and help them to master the skills. She freely shares her content with other teachers and works hard in professional training sessions to build up science instruction throughout the district.”
