She has served on the HOSA Advisory Board since 2011 and has been the recipient of other awards applauding her success and her 13 years of service. Parkinson was awarded the HOSA Above and Beyond Award in 2012 and the Outstanding HOSA Advisor Award in June 2015.
HOSA-Future Health Professionals, formerly known as Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), is a national career and technical student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education. It supports and encourages students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. In HOSA clubs, students develop leadership skills and practice speaking, interviewing, and problem-solving in regards to healthcare. Students involved with HOSA attend competitions, receive training and coaching, and learn more about pursuing a career in the medical field. HOSA clubs are available at all Cache County School District high schools.
