Congratulations to our Winter 2025 Academic All-State Students!

The Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) has helped coordinate and celebrate athletic and artistic accomplishments and performances for nearly 100 years. In that time, Academic All-State has come to be recognized as the highest honor afforded to student-athletes. According to the UHSAA, over 100,000 Utah high school students are involved in extracurricular sports and fine arts activities, but only a small percentage meet the requisite standards for this award. To qualify, students must be seniors in high school, members of their varsity sports team, and either maintain a 4.0 composite GPA or an index score benchmark composed of GPA + ACT/SAT score. Cache County School District is delighted to recognize 23 of these remarkable students!

Balancing academics and athletics is a tall order. Krew Knowles, a triple Bobcat athlete, says it’s all about time management.

“I feel like being successful in school and sports is all about using class time wisely,” he said. “You have to show up, and you have to use class time to work. It’s great, though, because I feel like I learn a lot from both school and sports. School is all about hard work, and sports is all about putting hard work to use.”

Sophie Baldwin, a double-roster cheerleader and drill team member for Mountain Crest, agrees.

"Balancing Cheer team, Drill team, and my academics has taught me that if I prioritize my time and plan ahead, anything is possible. I manage to make 24 hours in the day feel like 40! I have learned a lot about myself, and how mentally tough I am. The sky's the limit! My favorite quote that keeps me motivated in school and sports is, "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard!"

Hard work defines our student-athletes. Several CCSD Academic All-State students achieved the region’s highest honors in both academics and sports, with 9 out of the 23 students claiming region and/or state titles in their respective events. As a school district, we are so proud of these students and commend them for their exceptional achievement! Here is a list and picture of each of our Academic All-State students.
