Inspiring Growth and Confidence: Tayler Federico Named Cache High's 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year

Great teachers often inspire new generations of great teachers. Such is the case for Tayler Federico, Cache High School’s 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year. When she began working as an ISO aide at Cache High in 2019, she thought she was just finding a fulfilling way to pay for her pre-nursing major. But as she observed the life-changing interactions between teachers and students, she realized that education was her true calling. She changed her major, graduated in Secondary Education, and has taught Family and Consumer Sciences classes for the school ever since.
“I was so inspired by the teachers, administration, and staff here,” Federico explained. “[These] educators care about kids—educating them, being able to prioritize their mental health and overall wellbeing. They’re my ultimate inspiration.”
In her six years at Cache High—three as an Instructional Aide and three as a certified teacher—Federico has become known for her profound ability to connect with students and inspire their personal growth. Her greatest joy comes from “Connecting with students and seeing them grow as individuals.”
She finds profound inspiration in the metamorphosis she frequently witnesses. “My favorite process to watch is when a student comes to Cache High– shy, quiet, and mostly closed off,” she reflected. “Then, in time, they open up and we get to see their true personality shine through!”

This focus on the whole individual is what makes her teaching so impactful.
Principal Sheri Hansen praised Federico’s commitment to connecting with every student. “Tayler goes above and beyond to ensure her students feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential,” she shared.
Federico consistently strives to make learning relevant and fun, a hallmark of Cache High School’s approach to education. Principal Hansen emphasized her dedication: “Whether she's developing lesson plans, offering extra help, or finding creative ways to make learning fun, she consistently demonstrates excellence.”
Hansen concluded that Federico’s genuine passion for her profession is unmistakable. “Her passion for teaching is evident by her enthusiasm, professionalism, and kindness.”
As Cache High’s Teacher of the Year, Tayler Federico embodies the school’s commitment to supporting students both academically and personally. Her ability to foster authentic connections and prioritize student well-being ensures that every student she teaches not only learns new skills but also leaves her classroom more confident and ready for the future.
