Holly Hansen: Inspiring Growth in Every Student

Holly Hansen is a teacher on the move. As Lewiston Elementary’s 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year, she consistently seeks ways to improve her students’ learning experience. Her colleagues admire her dedication and passion for making a difference.
“Mrs. Hansen is an incredible fourth-grade teacher,” one colleague shared. “Her dedication to her students is unmatched. She genuinely loves and supports her students and is always willing to go the extra mile to help them succeed.”

“Holly’s commitment to growth is truly inspiring,” Lewiston Principal Troy Pugmire added. “Whether working toward her master’s degree, diving into a new curriculum, or finding ways to make classroom activities more engaging, she strives to improve herself and her teaching practices.”
For Hansen, it all comes down to her students.
“I just really love the kids,” she said. “Fourth-graders are smart, independent, and funny!”

Hansen’s classroom is a vibrant place where students delve deeply into Utah history and math - her favorite subjects.
“Math is great,” she said. “So is Utah history. We learn about the national parks, talk about math a lot, and use a lot of manipulatives. When I’m excited about it, they’re excited about it!”
According to Principal Pugmire, Hansen’s effectiveness in the classroom comes from her genuine desire to help all students.
“Mrs. Hansen inspires hope, ignites students' imaginations, and instills a love of learning in her students,” Pugmire said. “It is evident that Holly not only cares deeply about the students in her class, but she also cares about the success of all students at Lewiston Elementary.”
“Mrs. Hansen is funny and kind,” a student in Hansen’s class shared. “She is an amazing teacher. I would choose her as my fourth-grade teacher every time.”
