APPLICATIONS FOR 2026-27 COMMUNITY PRESCHOOLS ARE NOW CLOSED.
However, children who will be 4 years old by September 1st, 2026, may join the waitlist. Respondents will be notified if and when a spot opens up for the 2026-27 school year.
Quick Summary: Dates and Deadlines
- Application Deadline: You must apply by February 15, 2026.
- Missed the Deadline? Families who miss the initial application period can still join the waitlist. While spots are not guaranteed, being on the waitlist gives your child the opportunity to fill any openings that may arise.
- Child's Age: Your child must be 4 years old by September 1st,2026.
- Residency: You must live within the Cache County School District boundaries.
This program is designed to prepare children for kindergarten through structured play, social interaction, and foundational academic activities. It’s an inclusive and welcoming environment where all children can thrive.
How Much Does It Cost
- Tuition depends on how a many days your child attends. There is also a $50 one-time payment for supplies.
- $125 per month for two days per week
- $175 per month for four days per week
Families meeting income guidelines or with risk factors may qualify for reduced tuition or fee waiver. Assistance is based on household size and gross annual or monthly income. (The same rubric is used for qualifying for free and reduced lunch.)
When and Where
Preschool classes are held at these locations:
- Elementary Schools: Millville, Nibley, Greenville, Summit, and Lewiston.
- High Schools: Mountain Crest and Sky View
Note: You must provide your own transportation. The school does not provide buses for this program.
- AM and PM sessions are available; however, exact start and end times will not be determined until August.
- Typical hours are 9:05 a.m. - 11:35 a.m. and 1:05 p.m. - 3:35 p.m.
How Students Are Picked
- Priority:
- Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch.
- Students who meet specific risk factors as outlined in the applications.
- After priority spots are filled, students are selected by a lottery system.
- Once applications close in the Spring, a waitlist is available in case any spots open up through the year.
