High School: Preparing Students for the World Ahead!
High school is a time of growth, discovery, and preparation for life beyond graduation. Our secondary schools provide students with the tools, experiences, and support they need to explore their unique talents and ambitions. Whether preparing for college, a career, or other pathways, students are empowered to define their own success.
Portrait of a Graduate
Our Portrait of a Graduate outlines the essential skills and qualities we strive to cultivate in every student. By the time they graduate, our students will be:
Connected
Develop successful relationships, collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, solve problems, and treat others with kindness and respect as part of a broader community.
Character
Demonstrate honesty, integrity, self-motivation, responsibility for learning, satisfaction in accomplishing goals, and good citizenship.
Confident
Build knowledge and skills to be lifelong learners, applying understanding across subjects to solve both simple and complex problems.
College and Career Readiness
We are committed to helping students prepare for their future by exploring career and college options early and often. High school students benefit from:
- Work-Based Learning Opportunities: Internships, job shadowing, pre-apprenticeships, and career fairs.
- College Exploration: College fairs, interest inventories, and counseling to help students navigate post-secondary options.
- Real-World Experience: Programs that allow students to understand the skills and credentials required for their desired professions.
Academics and Character Development
Our high schools focus on academics and character education to ensure students are well-rounded and ready for the challenges ahead:
- Rigorous Coursework: Access to honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and concurrent enrollment college courses.
- Technology for Collaboration: Every student has a Chromebook and access to Google Apps for Education for innovative, collaborative learning.
- Guidance and Support: Dedicated counselors work closely with students to help them achieve their academic, personal, and career goals.
- Clubs and Activities: Numerous extracurricular opportunities help students build connections and foster a sense of community, no matter what their interests are.
