Hello! I am Stacie Williamson, the principal of Canyon Elementary. I taught for 17 years before moving over to the administrative side of education. I love working with elementary students and their parents. One of my favorite things about being the principal is my ability to work with all of the students across the grade levels. From the silliness of the kinders to the sarcasm of the fifth graders, they always keep me smiling.
I am what I like to call a "lifer" or a true "valley girl" as I have lived in Cache Valley my entire life. I grew up in River Heights and attended Cache County schools, including Mountain Crest! Yes, in case you are wondering, I love being able to wear my high school colors on our Spirit Fridays! I have one son, Colin, who also attends at Canyon. We reside in Nibley and I couldn't ask for a better community to call home.
I have a pretty simple philosophy when it comes to student achievement. It is all about teamwork. When students, teachers and parents come together to address the needs of a child from the academic side to the personal growth side, we can do amazing things. I love that we are a Seven Habits Leader in Me school. I have always been a fan of the Habits and I know as we learn and grow together through the use of them we will help our students achieve more than we could ever dream.
