Letter from the Principal
Dear Millville Elementary Families,
Welcome to another great year at Millville Elementary School. For those of you who are new to our school, welcome, and know you are joining an amazing educational community. Our teachers and staff are passionate, hardworking, and caring. Our central focus is our students and their progress. We work collaboratively to maintain our high standards while making personal connections with each child.
This is my fifth year as principal of Millville Elementary, and my 21st year in education. I taught 6th grade for nine years and I have been in administration for the past 11 years. It is my responsibility to ensure that every student has access to a quality education. I truly feel like I have the best job in the world as I get to work with great students, dedicated educators and passionate, caring parents. I look forward to strengthening those relationships this year.
I believe very strongly that we all want what is best for the students of Millville Elementary, and that goal will be achieved through meaningful collaboration between school, students and parents. I am always open to suggestions on how we can improve. Please feel free to contact me at any time.
Each school year brings change and 2021-22 is no different. We would like to welcome the following teachers to the staff of Millville:
- Aubre Gibbons, 6th grade teacher
I’m so excited to start working at Millville Elementary! Ever since I was in 3rd grade I’ve wanted to be a teacher and I’m so excited to finally start teaching this year. I grew up here in Cache Valley, and both my husband and I graduated from Utah State this past spring. I met my husband in middle school and we’ve been married for almost 2 years! Some of my hobbies are mountain biking, wake surfing, and camping.
- Sarah Draper, 6th grade teacher (team teaching with Mrs. Egbert)
I am beyond excited to be joining Millville Elementary this year! I feel honored to be teaching 6th grade at such a wonderful school. I grew up mostly in West Jordan, Utah but spent time living in Japan and Germany while my Dad served in the United States Air Force. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Utah Valley University. Teaching is a dream come true for me! In my spare time I love to read, bike, run, and be with my family and friends. I also love to travel and have visited 23 countries including New Zealand, Italy, Australia, Cyprus and Vanuatu. My favorite part about teaching is watching the students to learn and progress. This year is going to be the best one yet!
- Melanie Christensen, AM kindergarten/All-day kindergarten
I am excited to teach Kindergarten at Millville Elementary! I have been a preschool teacher for many years, and most recently taught the All Day Kindergarten class at Millville. I have a master’s degree in Elementary Teaching and a bachelor’s degree in Marriage and Family Studies with an emphasis in child development. Early childhood education is my passion! I love teaching and making learning hands on and fun for my students! My teaching philosophy is that all students can learn and I am committed to helping each of my students feel successful as they learn and grow in my classroom. I am married to Brett Christensen and we have 4 fabulous boys Erik, Cameron, Austin and Ethan. In my spare time I love to read, shop, watch movies, and spend time with my family.
We would also like to let you know about some other staffing changes that have occurred:
Cari Bodily, former 2nd grade teacher, moving to 3rd grade
Maureen Fiefia, former 3rd grade teacher, moving to 4th grade

Monday thru Thursday 9:05--3:35, Friday 9:05--2:20
In the interest of safety, please do not drop off your children before 8:45 as there is no supervision before that time. Students should be picked up from school by 3:45 on Monday-Thursday and by 2:35 on Friday.
Each teacher starts the day with curriculum based practices. Consistently tardy students miss essential building block skills throughout the year. Students who have excessive absences also miss critical instruction. Please help them be as successful as possible by having them in attendance as much as possible. All students who arrive after 9:05 must check in at the office. If your child will not be present, please call and inform our school office at (435) 752-7162.
Pricing will be available later in the summer. Breakfast will be served from 8:45--9:15. Lunch menus are available on our school website by clicking on the fork and knife icon or under Quick links on Millville’s webpage.
Drop off and Pick up:
Use the front of the school (east) and the south of the school for pick-up and drop-off. Please do not use the north parking lot for dropping off or picking up.
School Supply List: Grade level supply/donation lists are available on our website or you may view it Here. Notice: the items on the list will be used during the regular school day. They may be brought from home on a voluntary basis, otherwise, they will be furnished by the school. Please refer to the district website for board policy regarding student fees and fee waivers.
I am looking forward to another great year here at Millville Elementary.
