Special Education

Our academic services are tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of our students with disabilities. We provide specially designed instruction and support to help students succeed in accessing and progressing in the general education curriculum

We offer assistive technology tools and resources to help students with disabilities overcome barriers to learning, communication, and independence. These technologies range from adaptive devices to specialized software designed to enhance access to education.

Assistive Technology Resources

Audiology services include hearing assessments, interventions, and support for students with hearing impairments. Our audiologists ensure students have access to appropriate accommodations and technologies to support communication and learning.

Behavioral support services provide targeted interventions to help students develop positive behaviors and social skills. Our specialists collaborate with teachers and families to create individualized plans that address unique behavioral challenges.

Essential Elements Classrooms serve students with significant disabilities who require highly individualized instruction. These classrooms focus on functional academics, life skills, and social development in a structured, support environment.

Occupational therapy helps students build the skills they need for daily living and school success, such as fine motor skills, sensory integration, and self-care. Our therapists provide individualized interventions to support student independence.

Physical therapy services focus on improving mobility, strength, and coordination to help students access their learning environment. Our therapists work with students to address physical challenges and achieve their educational goals.

Our special education preschool classrooms are designed for children ages 3-5 with developmental delays. Students who qualify receive individualized instruction and services to develop critical skills for future success. Enrollment is based on screening results. Preschool screenings are held 3-4 times per year by appointment.

Speech-Language therapy supports students with communication challenges, including speech articulation, language development, and social communication skills. Our therapists provide individualized strategies to enhance communication abilities.

Resource classrooms provide additional academic support for students with disabilities who benefit from specialized instruction in smaller group settings. These classrooms supplement general education programs to address individual learning needs.

Our Special Education File Services manage student records in compliance with legal requirements, ensuring that educational plans and documentation are maintained accurately and confidentially.

School psychologists conduct eligibility evaluations to determine if students qualify for special education services. These assessments include cognitive, academic, and behavioral evaluations tailored to individual needs.

Through our partnership with the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB), we provide vision support services to students with visual impairments. These services include orientation, mobility training, and access to specialized resources.
