Policy No. 4200: Library Materials

Library Media Centers and Materials

The Board of Education acknowledges the integral role of the Cache School District’s school library media centers in provisioning a wealth of informational resources for both educators and learners. These centers are dedicated to fostering students' information literacy and research capabilities, promoting responsible digital citizenship, and offering avenues for enriching recreational reading.

The Board directs the Superintendent and district administrators with the essential task of establishing detailed administrative procedures for the District’s school libraries. These procedures will be in strict accordance with both state and federal legislation and will encompass a strategic approach for the selection and deselection of library materials, a transparent and fair process for addressing challenges to library materials, and the implementation of additional procedures as required to ensure the provision of secure, reliable, and equitable library media services across all schools within the district.
