Student Activities/Excursion – Safe Travel Policy

The Cache County Board of Education supports field trips as valuable tools to enhance educational and extracurricular programs, connecting students with civic, cultural, community, and environmental resources. Field trips must align directly with the curriculum, support specific learning objectives, and be part of a planned educational sequence.

Student safety, expense, and district liability are top priorities. Out-of-state trips are restricted due to limited liability protections, and extensive travel should be replaced with local alternatives when possible. Overnight trips and high-risk activities such as rock climbing or rafting are prohibited.
