Policy No. 1700: Business Administrator's Contract, Evaluation, and Renewal/Non-Renewal
The Business Administrator is appointed by the Board of Education and serves as the Board’s chief financial officer. The term of office is for two years and until a successor is appointed and qualified subject to applicable law. (See UCA 53G-4-302).
The Board shall make a written evaluation of the Business Administrator during his/her contract term. In its sole discretion, the Board may evaluate the Business Administrator on a more frequent basis. Written evaluations of the Business Administrator by the Board must be completed before the contract is renewed and the Business Administrator’s contract may not be automatically renewed.
Based on performance evaluations, the Board may renew the Business Administrator’s contract for the next term. Non-renewal of the Business Administrator’s contract can only be accomplished by a majority vote of the Board.
