Policy No. 1150: Code of Ethics

The Cache County School District Board of Education will hold itself to the highest standards of ethical behavior including the following:

  1. Encourage the free expression of opinion by all Board members, and seek systematic communications between the board and students, staff and all elements of the community.

  2. Present any personal criticisms of employees to the Superintendent.
  3. Refer complaints to the proper administrative officer or insist that they be presented in writing to the Superintendent and whole School Board.
  4. Once a Board action has been taken by vote, regardless of personal vote or support of the issue, give full support and work to enforce the Board’s decision and the actions taken.
  5. Make no disparaging remarks, in or out of Board meetings, about other members of the Board or their opinions.
  6. Avoid being placed in a position of conflict of interest, and refrain from using a Board position for personal or partisan gain; not be swayed by perks or promises made by individuals or groups seeking favors. Always support the best interest of the School Board.
