Welcome to Birch Creek Elementary! I am honored to serve as the principal of this incredible school. Originally from Smithfield, I am a proud graduate of Utah State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. With a passion for learning and leadership, I also pursued a Master of Science in Administration from Arizona State University.

Before stepping into administration, I had the privilege of teaching Kindergarten through 7th grade for ten years, an experience that deepened my love for working with children and helping them grow academically and personally. As principal, I aim to create an environment where students thrive, teachers feel supported, and parents are valued partners in education.

At Birch Creek Elementary, we believe in “The Bulldog Way”:  Safe - Kind- Responsible.  My door is always open, and I look forward to continuing to build on our school's success together.

My name is Michelle Downs. I love my job as the School Secretary here at Birch Creek! I feel so blessed to work with so many amazing teachers and students! My husband and I have 5 children and 7 grandchildren! I am so thankful for my family at home and Birch Creek. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, read, and go on road trips with whoever will get in my car! 

Birch Creek truly is a wonderful place to be! The staff, parents, and students here are amazing! I am so thankful to be at Birch Creek Elementary!!
