School Community Council
The Canyon Elementary School Community Council composed of parents and school staff works diligently to develop and approve the School Land Trust plan and to monitor implementation of Land Trust funds. Our school received $116,572.00 this year from the Utah School Land Trust to help us support student learning and success at school. These funds were spent to provide paraprofessional support for reading and math along with purchasing chromebooks to increase technology access for students and licenses for online programs to support learning in reading, math and science. Additionally the school community council discusses school safety and other issues pertaining to school climate and student success.
District SCC Virtual Training Meeting: If you are new to the council or would like a refresher you may plan to attend a virtual training session being held on
Tuesday, October 8th at 6:00 pm.

School Community Council
2024-25 Membership Directory
All parents are invited to attend the School Community Council open meetings; however, only elected members may vote on decisions being made. Utah State law requires all schools hold an election every year to replace members of the council. A member of the council serves a two-year term and may serve more consecutive terms if they are so elected. Each year we are in need of additional parent members to join this council. If you are interested in serving on the council, please contact the principal or SCC chair (contact information below). Nominations/Elections for open Council positions in the upcoming 2025-26 school year will be held in April-May 2025.
If you have an agenda item that you would like to be discussed at the next council meeting, please contact a member of the School Community Council listed below or come into the school office for more information.
