Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
We are excited to welcome you to your 2019-2020 school year at Mountain Crest High School! Freshman students are invited to attend a special orientation on Tuesday, August 20th to get acquainted with Mountain Crest High School. School begins on Wednesday, August 21st at 8:00A.M. The "Hello Assembly" will take place in the Blue (Main) Gym during "FLEX" period. Mountain Crest students and staff had a successful year, as demonstrated by our above average core academic programs, performing and visual arts, athletics, technology accomplishments, and scholarship recipients. These accomplishments happen because of the outstanding quality of students, parents, teachers, support staff, and community we have at Mountain Crest High School. We are confident that this year will be even better.
We encourage all of our students to get involved at MC right away. We have many activities to take advantage of as either a participant or member of the audience. We kick off the school year with our annual STANG START (a night of fun and an introduction to various school groups and activities) on Friday, August 23rd from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. We have great clubs, performing arts groups, academic and athletic teams, and the list goes on. The quicker you become involved, the more you are going to love being a Mountain Crest Mustang, and the more successful your learning experience will be! So, be a part of the Orange and Blue and get involved with our Mustang pride and spirit! Our theme this year is “Better Together”.
Please note some important items of information:
School begins at 8:00 A.M. each day, and the day ends at 2:45P.M. Monday through Thursday, and 1:30 P.M. on Friday. Come prepared to learn!

Your class schedule will be accessible on PowerSchool in late July or early August, you will receive an email alert or phone call informing you that your schedule is available. No schedule changes will take place on the first day of any trimester. Please attend those classes listed on your schedule.

The price of school lunch is $2.35 per day. Breakfast will also be served each day at a cost of $1.75. Please make lunch account checks out for amount of purchase only. Free/Reduced lunch forms are available on-line. If you do not have health insurance or if you wish to enhance the health insurance coverage for your student, we strongly urge you to take advantage of the low-cost student insurance. Cache County School District does not carry insurance for students. The student insurance is a service provided by a local carrier and our school district does not receive any funds for making this service available. Please seriously consider getting this insurance coverage for your student. Enrollment forms can be picked up in the Main Office.
The Cache County School District Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for Internet and Network Access is available electronically on our website: www.ccsdut.org/mc. It is imperative that the parent/guardian and student read through and understand this policy as the student can lose their privilege to use computer/internet services during the school year. It is also the responsibility of the parent/guardian to notify the school at the beginning of each school year if they do not want their student to have access to district computer/internet services.
The Principal of each school has been designated as the school level administrator of fees and of fee waivers for those who qualify based on School District and State criteria. Families requesting fee waivers will be asked to provide proof of income. If you have any questions regarding fees and/or fee waivers, please call.
STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN OPTIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS OR SCHOOL SPONSORED /SUPPORTED ACTIVITY EVEN IF THERE IS AN INABILITY TO PAY AT THE TIME. (PAYMENT PLANS ARE AVAILABLE)
Under Utah State Law (53A-11-602), schools must allow students to carry and use their asthma inhalers while at school. Those who use inhalers while at school must fill out an Asthma Self-Administration Form. This form must be signed by both the student’s parent/guardian and their health care provider. This form is available in the main office at school and on the school website with other registration materials. If your student will be using an inhaler while at school, please submit this required form.
We look forward to serving you at Mountain Crest High School and hope you feel welcome! Student success and learning is very important to us, we believe every student can and will learn given the right environment. That is why we focus on communication and critical thinking skills and character development here at Mountain Crest. We know these skills are essential to our students’ success in school and in life. Your support is critical to your student’s productive and positive high school experience. Please get involved and be a part of Mountain Crest High School—a great place to be!
