Welcome Back Students & Parents! from Principal Robins

  • 8/12/2020

    Dear Parents,

Wow, what a time we are experiencing right now! With COVID-19 Pandemic and all the health guidelines being set into place, it just seems different from years past. However, the beginning of a school year has always had a special place in my heart and I hope you all feel the same. It is a time of excitement, new possibilities and great promise. I know it is hard to think that yet another summer is rapidly ending. However, it also means that another year of opportunities is just beyond the horizon. Although the way we do things this year will be different. I still believe in our school community. This is a wonderful community with amazing students and parents. It is our hope that we as a staff can provide the most optimal education we can, under the current circumstances we are experiencing.

We will have more opportunities to follow guidelines and directives from our health department, government leaders, district and school. For example, wearing masks, sanitizing and physical distancing. I know these things can be a hurdle for many of us. However, we will do our best to provide a positive atmosphere for your child and help them to have a wonderful experience at Heritage. We will be utilizing our school webpage more than ever to provide information to parents. teachers are planning to utilize digital communication more as well. The front office will continue to push out information through emails, text messages and phone calls. We hope that we don’t overload you with items from our school. We just want to keep you informed.

The staff at Heritage is amazing and they have been working hard to prepare for our re-opening. I hope that you all can join us in making this year a great one. I sure look forward to seeing all of you again. I know this school can be one of the best in the State if we continue to put our best foot forward. Thank you for choosing to be a Heritage Huskie and I am so very honored to be your Principal. Thank you for your kindness and willingness to help us move forward into the 2020-21 school year.

    Sincerely,

    Mr. Robins

Cache County Re Opening Plan

  •

    Dear CCSD Parents,

Last night, the Cache Board of Education passed the CCSD Reopening Plan for the 2020-2021 School Year. Currently, unless circumstances change, school is set to begin on August 20th, 2020, with a Monday through Friday schedule. We have provided links below for the plan and answers to frequently asked questions that we have received from parents.

As a school district, we are committed to monitoring circumstances and to making adjustments as necessary to protect our staff and students. On Monday, we will train our school administrators, who in turn will begin to work with our school employees to implement the State recommendations and requirements as outlined in the plan.

Following are some items to consider as families prepare for the return to school:

    1. Each student will receive two cloth face masks upon return to school. Parents are welcome to also purchase face masks as part of this year’s school shopping. We encourage parents to have students begin to practice wearing masks in public settings to get used to wearing them. We request that students be committed to wearing a mask to show their appreciation to their teachers and other school employees who are committed to their education. We will be sending information soon for those students with special needs who may need an accommodation for a mask.
    2. We have purchased air coolers for each classroom that does not have air conditioning to help provide relief during the first few weeks of school. However, we suggest that students wear cooler clothes while still maintaining the school dress codes.
    3. We encourage families to teach their children good hand hygiene practices such as washing their hands for 20 seconds before and after they eat, use the restroom, etc.  This will also be taught and reinforced at school. Hand sanitizer will be available in classrooms and common areas.
    4. We need a commitment from parents to keep their children home when they are ill, especially if they have any of the following symptoms. We will do our best to continue to provide them an education while they are home. Symptoms include:

    Chills

    Cough

    Difficulty breathing

    Fever of 100.4 or above

    Muscle aches and pain

New or reduced sense of taste or smell

    Sore throat
