Mrs. Shalayne Merrill-Bragg- Computer Specialist

My name is Shalayne Merrill-Bragg, and I love teaching computers at Heritage Elementary! I am married and have 3 amazing kids: 1 in college, 1 in high school, and 1 in middle school. I went to school at both Utah Valley University and Utah State University studying Liberal Arts and Speech Communications. I have done some design work on the side and love to learn new things. In my spare time, I love to go cycling and I like to do lots of organized rides in the summer like Little Red, Goldilocks, and the Cache Valley Century. I love to garden, and I have lots of flower gardens. I love to travel with my family and we are huge Disneyland fans. My husband and I even got married on Disneyland’s birthday and then my daughter decided she needed the same birthday as Disneyland too! I teach in the Computer Lab with all our students learning to code (Kinder thru 6th), and our 3rd-6th grade students also have keyboarding time. I love teaching technology to the students at Heritage and hope they love to learn these new skills in a fun way.

Gretchen Gibbs- Media Specialist

I grew up in Oregon and spent most of my adult life in the suburbs of Seattle, Washington. I miss the trees, but not the traffic. I am married and have three boys ranging from 11-24, two small dogs named Baxter & Zoe, and a daughter-in-law who I consider my bonus child. Our family moved to Cache Valley in 2021 to be closer to family. I never thought I'd find a place I loved more than Washington, but I did. We adore Cache Valley and everyone in it. I spent most of my career in Customer Service and Purchasing until I was able to be a stay-at-home mom where I devoted all my time to my non-profit and volunteering. I have always wanted to be a teacher and centered my volunteering around it. When we moved to Cache Valley, my heartstrings were pulled and I became a Substitute Teacher. From there, everything blossomed and now I have the best job in the world; a Librarian!

Mrs. Stephanie Taylor- Art Specialist

Hello! My name is Stephanie Taylor. I am the art specialist at Heritage Elementary. I have enjoyed getting to know your students and have loved learning from them every day. In 1995 I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Dance Education from Brigham Young University and taught for two years at Provo High School. I then changed my focus and was at home raising my 5 awesome children. It was then that I realized how much I love elementary school. I volunteered in the PTA for many years. This year I finished my ESL endorsement. I am working on a STEM endorsement and obtaining a master's degree in Art Education.

I have 4 kids in college and one attending Ridgeline High School. My oldest son is married and they have twins, my first two grandchildren. Outside of school, my favorite activities are camping with my husband and children. I have a little dog named Jimmer. I love to garden, bike, swim, and spend time at the beach. I love to teach students to think outside the box and to keep trying. Good things always take time and that a mistake is a jumping point for a new idea.

My Favorites:

Color: Green
Flower: Roses
Treat/Snack: Snickers, chocolate chip cookies
Drink: Juice
Restaurant: Costa Vida
Ice Cream: Aggie Blue Mint
Hobbies: Gardening, scriptures, sewing, cooking, crafts
