Dear Sunrise Elementary Families,

The 2022-2023 school year will be my first year as the principal of Sunrise Elementary and my 28th year in education.  For the first 20 years of my career, I taught elementary grades 1st - 5th.  I even taught one year of 8th grade algebra, pre-algebra, and general math.  For the last 7 years, I was the principal at White Pine Elementary in Richmond. The majority of my career has been with Cache County School District. While teaching in Cache, I earned an ESL Endorsement, Gifted and Talented Endorsement, Math Endorsement, Masters in Elementary Education from USU, and a certificate in Leadership and Supervision.  I love learning and am always searching for ways to improve.

I am excited about getting to know all of you this year! I am always open to suggestions and input on how I can improve.  I tell students I have two jobs: keeping the school safe and making sure everyone is learning.  I love being around children and watching them learn. I enjoy supporting teachers and students in becoming the best they can be by cultivating an environment that is safe, welcoming, and inviting to all people.  I provide professional development opportunities for teachers that reflect what our school needs most.  I use data to make informed decisions.  I value the community by seeking their input from the School Community Council and PTA.

Thank you for supporting such a wonderful school. I am excited about getting to know all of you better. I have the best job in the whole world!
