Notice of Proposed Tax Increase Cache County School District

The CACHE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT is proposing to increase its property tax revenue.

The CACHE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT tax on a $548,000 residence would increase from $566.33 to $776.71, which is $210.38 per year.

The CACHE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT tax on a $548,000 business would increase from $1,029.69 to $1,412.20, which is $382.51 per year.

If the proposed budget is approved, CACHE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT would receive an additional $8,610,926 in property tax revenue per year as a result of the tax increase. If the proposed budget is approved, CACHE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 37.10% above last year's property tax budgeted revenue excluding eligible new growth.

The CACHE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT invites all concerned citizens to a public hearing for the purpose of hearing comments regarding the proposed tax increase and to explain the reasons for the proposed tax increase. You have the option to attend or participate in the public hearing in person or virtually.

There are multiple ways to participate in the taxation hearing, including attending in person at 2035 N 1200 E, North Logan; attending virtually via Zoom with the ability to provide video/oral testimony; or submitting a written comment before and during the hearing. The following are instructions for participating in the latter two options.

Zoom Virtual Meeting:

  • View privacy notices and fill out the required information.
    • This is needed to ensure video security and gather information for the public record.
    • If you choose to participate in another way, links are included for the live YouTube stream and written comment options.
  • Click the Register button at the bottom of the page.
  • Check the provided email address for the Zoom meeting confirmation link.
  • You may either install Zoom on your device or join via your browser.
    • At a minimum, a functioning microphone is required to provide verbal comment, and a functioning camera is required if the participant wishes to be seen by the Board.
  • On the day and time of the hearing, August 6th @ 6 PM, click the meeting link you received in your email.
  • Enter a name if prompted and click Join.
  • When the time comes for the virtual attendee comment period, you will be granted permission to unmute your microphone and camera to offer a comment.
